Young, aggressive Racers are the cornerstone of New Team Yeti

Available for immediate release

Yeti Cycles, a pioneer in professional mountain biking racing, has announced the rebirth of Team Yeti. Yeti has signed young racers who are relatively unknown and will focus on downhill and four-cross events.

Chris Conroy, Yeti Cycles president, stated that we are excited to announce our new team. He said, « We look forward to an exciting year of racing. » Conroy stated that, as in previous years, we added racers who we believe have the potential to be stars of tomorrow.

Team Yeti will include some of the most talented young racers around the globe. They will be coached and supervised by Scott Sharples (Australian National Coach, professional downhill racer and Australian National Coach) and Keith Darner (who won 3 national titles while he was a Fort Lewis College coach).

The powerful Australian junior program has produced three Team Yeti riders, Justin Havukainen and Dave McLaughlin. It also features some of the most talented young talent in the sport. Havukainen is a dual citizen and will race this year as an American. He would have been the highest-ranked American at the World Championships if he had raced as an American. Ross Milan, a Colorado native who is known for his lightning fast starts will be a strong contender in the 4X as well as the DH. Scott Sharples, a professional racer for many years, will be racing DH as well as his coaching duties.

Yeti Cycles has a long track record in racing. They won the first World Championships, and have been on numerous podiums at national and international cups over the past decade. Many of Yetis’ innovative designs, including full-suspension and other race-specific designs, have been inspired by racing. Yeti Cycles produces high-end bicycles for race-specific races at its Golden, Colorado production plant.
