Hi, my name is Stéphane Arseneau. I’m from Robertville Sormany. I am with my father and my kids and my wife, my mother. It’s my first moose hunting this year.
We have to clean that now and put that in our 4-wheeler and bring that to the site because it’s pretty, pretty hard here, it’s all wet and muddy.

My name is Eugène Pitre I’m a forest ranger and I work with the Department of Natural Resources in Bathurst. This here is the moose registration station. We have been registering moose in New Brunswick since early 1960’s and I’ve been working here for 32 years and what we do when a hunter kills a moose, he has to register the moose and this is where we register it. Every moose that comes in we take two teeth of the moose, these teeth are taken out so the biologist, so the biologist can know the age and the general population of the moose. This is registered, we have the name of the hunter and the license number and if it’s a male or a female. Generally the moose population in New Brunswick is very good. I’ve been doing the deer yard, moose yard surveys for 37 years and I was out this winter in helicopters and we did the whole region around Bathurst and every day we’d see 40-50 moose. The population in New Brunswick is in great shape.
