Raspberries, Pré-d'en-Haut, N.B.

My name is Madeleine Céré from the farm : Les Petits Fruits de Pré-d’en-Haut in Memramcook and presently I’m picking some raspberry, red raspberry, because is the time of that and we got a lot of them here. Raspberries people are doing I should say, they’re doing a lot of jam with raspberries, some people are still making pie, but a lot eat them just fresh or put them in yogurt or make a cake or, but a lot of raspberry are eat fresh too. We start to grow raspberries four years ago and we learn from different place to talk with other producer to talk to see, take some information from the Internet or from government publication so there’s a lot of place where you can find information and learn in the same time you do it you learn a lot too. Find people for picking raspberries or blueberries or any fruit or apple it’s a, it start to be a little bit difficult those days because here in the Moncton area there’s a lot of job in the city and the young people are more interested those, these jobs than pick fruit, but we still have some local pickers and other people, retired people that want to come to do something. I think it’s important to keep those culture of little fruit like raspberry, blueberry it’s important because, because it’s important to know where, what we eat where does it come from, because there’s less producers than in the past so we still need to eat and it’s important to keep the producer and to try to keep our knowledge yes.
